The Short Version
GranitePro serves Rockville and all of Montgomery County with quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, soapstone, and Dekton countertops — fabricated at our own Eldersburg facility, installed by our own crew. Two ways to start: a free in-home estimate at your home, or walk into our Columbia showroom any weekday or Saturday — no appointment needed.

Rockville homeowners shopping for countertops face the same problem as buyers across Montgomery County — most fabricators are hard to evaluate until something goes wrong. The variables that actually matter are whether the company fabricates at their own facility or sends your slab to a third party, whether the installers are trained employees or day labor, and whether the quote you're looking at is a real all-in number or a bait price with add-ons behind it.

GranitePro fabricates everything at our own Eldersburg shop — CNC and waterjet cutting, digital templating, edge profiling, and seam planning all handled by our own team. The same company that cuts your countertops installs them. We serve Rockville, Potomac, Bethesda, North Potomac, Gaithersburg, Germantown, and all of Montgomery County from our Columbia showroom on Route 29, about 30 minutes from central Rockville.

— Why quartz is the most popular countertop in Maryland kitchens

Granite, quartzite, Dekton & natural stone

Quartz is our most popular material but it isn't right for every kitchen. Granite is fully heat-resistant — hot pans directly on the surface, no trivets needed — UV-stable for outdoor kitchens, and every slab is genuinely unique. For Rockville homeowners who cook heavily or want a one-of-a-kind kitchen, granite is often the better answer. Periodic sealing is required, but it's a 10-minute homeowner job every few years.

Quartzite is a natural stone that's frequently confused with quartz — they're completely different materials. Quartzite is harder than granite, more heat-resistant, and often produces looks that rival the best marble. It's typically priced above granite. If you want a true natural stone with marble-like aesthetics and maximum durability, quartzite is worth seeing in person at our Columbia showroom.

Dekton is an ultra-compact sintered surface — zero porosity, extreme scratch and heat resistance, and UV-stable for outdoor use. It's the right call for high-demand kitchens or outdoor installations where quartz wouldn't perform. We carry Dekton alongside our stone lines and can include it in any estimate for Bethesda, Potomac, Gaithersburg, or anywhere in Montgomery County.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — Rockville and all of Montgomery County are a regular part of our service area. We provide free in-home estimates throughout the county and regularly install in Rockville, Bethesda, Potomac, North Potomac, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Olney, Clarksburg, and surrounding communities. Our Columbia showroom on Route 29 is about 30 minutes from central Rockville.
Quartz is engineered — consistent color and pattern, non-porous, zero maintenance, but sensitive to prolonged heat and outdoor UV. Granite is natural — every slab is unique, fully heat-resistant (hot pans directly on the surface, no trivets needed), and UV-stable for outdoor kitchens. Granite requires periodic sealing, which is a 10-minute homeowner job every few years. Rockville homeowners who cook heavily tend to lean toward granite for the heat resistance. Those who want zero maintenance choose quartz. We can walk you through both side by side at our Columbia showroom.
Dekton is an ultra-compact sintered surface made by Cosentino — glass, porcelain, and quartz fused at extreme temperature and pressure. The result is zero porosity, extreme scratch and stain resistance, full heat resistance, and UV stability for outdoor use. It's the right call for demanding kitchens, outdoor cooking areas, or homeowners who want the absolute lowest maintenance surface. It does cost more than most quartz — ask us about pricing for your specific project.
Completely different materials despite the similar names. Quartz countertops are engineered from ground quartz crystals bound with resin. Quartzite is a natural stone formed when sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure underground. Quartzite is harder than granite, fully heat-resistant, and often produces looks that rival the best marble. It's typically more expensive than granite and significantly more than quartz. If you want natural stone with marble aesthetics and maximum durability, quartzite is worth seeing in person at our Columbia showroom.
It depends on your priorities. Cambria is American-made with a lifetime warranty and the most realistic natural stone looks. Caesarstone has the widest color range and a long track record. Silestone uses recycled content with HybriQ technology. Vicostone offers dramatic veined patterns at a strong mid-range value. Q Quartz and Polar Stone are reliable mid-range options. Dal-Tile is a solid budget-friendly choice. Our designers at the Columbia showroom can walk you through all of them side by side — no appointment needed.
Yes — removal and disposal of existing countertops is part of our scope. We handle laminate, Corian, tile, and existing stone. Tile is the most labor-intensive to remove since it's typically set in mortar, so it carries a higher removal cost. Everything is included in your estimate so there are no surprises on install day.
Yes — licensed plumbers handle sink disconnect and reconnect as part of the install day. You don't need to coordinate a separate plumber. It's included in your project scope.
From digital template to installation is typically 6–10 business days. Installation itself is a single-day visit — we remove your old countertops, install the new stone, and handle plumbing the same day. Your kitchen is back in service by end of install day.
