Does marble stain or scratch?

Marble is softer than granite and quartz. It can scratch, and acids like lemon, wine, and tomato can etch the surface, leaving dull spots. Many owners love the patina that develops; others prefer a quartzite or quartz look-alike. We'll help you decide.

Do you stock full slabs?

Yes. Our Eldersburg location has slabs in stock. Our Columbia showroom has large-format displays, and many conveniently located local vendors let you see whole slabs before you choose.

Does marble need to be sealed?

Yes. Sealing helps marble resist stains. It doesn't prevent etching, which is why we talk through how you cook before you choose.

Polished or honed marble?

Polished shows off the veining and color. Honed is matte, and it hides etching much better, which makes it a popular choice for busy kitchens.

Is marble a good choice for a bathroom?

Yes. Vanities see less acid and wear than kitchens, so marble is an easy, beautiful choice there.

Can I see marble slabs in person?

Yes. See slabs in stock at our Eldersburg location (Mon-Fri 9-5), or large-format displays at our Columbia showroom (Mon-Fri 9-5, Sat 10-3).

How much do marble countertops cost?

It depends on the stone, edge, and size of your project. Marble ranges from moderate to very high-end. A free in-home estimate gets you an exact number.

How long does it take to get marble countertops?

Most projects install 6-12 business days after we template. For most standard kitchens, the install itself takes one day.

Who fabricates and installs the countertops?

We do. Every countertop is fabricated at our own facility in Eldersburg and installed by our own crew, with a 10-year labor warranty.

I want the marble look. What do you recommend?

Usually quartz. You get the marble look everyone's after with the lowest maintenance of any countertop on the market. If you want real marble, we do a lot of it, including high-end marbles, and we'll tell you honestly how it lives.

Do you do small projects like bathroom vanities?

Yes. We keep a large selection of remnants that are perfect for vanities, bars, and laundry rooms.

How much do new countertops cost?

It varies a lot with the stone, the brand, and the services you need. For a typical 45-55 square foot kitchen, most of our customers land between $4,500 and $6,500 installed. A free in-home estimate gets you an exact number.
