How we work

One company handles the whole project

Most homeowners don't realize how many pieces go into a countertop project — or how many different hands can touch it at different companies. At GranitePro, your project is managed from our own facility by our own team. Here's exactly what that looks like.

Countertop removal and disposal
Step 01

Countertop Removal & Disposal

Your old countertops come out on installation day — the same visit your new ones go in. Our crew handles removal carefully so your cabinets come through undamaged, and we haul everything away. You don't coordinate a separate demo crew or deal with disposal.

  • All materials removed — laminate, Corian, granite, quartz, or tile countertops
  • Cabinet protection — existing cabinet boxes preserved throughout removal
  • Full haul-away — we dispose of everything, nothing left behind
  • Same-day — removal and new installation happen in one visit
GranitePro digital laser templating system
Step 02

Digital Laser Templating

Before fabrication begins, we template your kitchen using a state-of-the-art digital laser system. This isn't tape measures and paper patterns — it's millimeter-accurate scanning that captures every angle, every out-of-square wall, and every appliance clearance in your space.

That data feeds directly into our CNC. What gets cut is exactly what was measured. And because the system is digital, your existing countertops stay in place right up until installation day — no living without a kitchen while we prep.

  • Millimeter accuracy — no hand-measurement errors carried into fabrication
  • Existing countertops stay in place — until the day we install
  • Slab layout preview — we scan your slab so you can see exactly how the stone will lay out before we cut
  • Template visit takes about an hour — minimal disruption to your day

Step 03

CNC Fabrication at Our Own Facility

Every countertop we install is fabricated at our own facility in Eldersburg — not outsourced, not sent to a third-party shop. We run a Baca CNC waterjet for cutting and a Northwood router system for edge polishing. Two purpose-built machines that produce consistent, accurate results on every project.

We also operate a water recycling system — fabrication waste water is recirculated rather than discharged. Cleaner process, better operation.

  • Baca CNC waterjet — every cut made to the exact digital template specification
  • Northwood router system — consistent edge profiles across the full run
  • Fabricated in Eldersburg — our facility, our team, our standards
  • 6–10 business days — template to ready-to-install

Step 04

Professional Installation

Installation day is when everything comes together. Our own crew — the same team that fabricated your countertops — arrives with your stone, removes the old tops, and installs the new ones. No sub-contracted installers. No strangers in your home.

Seams are set using the Gorilla Seam Setting System with custom color-matched adhesive — UV-resistant glue for white quartz, epoxy-polyester hybrid for granite and natural stone. Every seam is dressed and finished before the crew leaves. The goal on every project: a seam that hides well.

  • Our own installation crew — employees, not sub-contractors
  • Gorilla seam setting system — professional seam alignment and clamping
  • Custom color-matched adhesive — mixed to match your specific slab
  • UV-resistant glue for white quartz — prevents yellowing at the seam over time

Step 05

Sink, Faucet & Plumbing

Sink installation and plumbing reconnect are handled by licensed plumbers — coordinated by us so you're not tracking down a separate contractor. For most projects, plumbing is completed the same day as installation. Projects with multiple sinks or more complex plumbing may require a scheduled follow-up visit — you'll know that upfront, not on installation day.

Undermount sinks are anchored with the Sink-It heavy-duty system and sealed around the full perimeter with pure silicone — not caulk. Silicone holds up to the heat and moisture a kitchen sink sees over years of use. Caulk degrades. We don't use it.

  • Licensed plumbers — coordinated by GranitePro, no separate contractor to manage
  • Sink-It anchoring system — professional-grade, engineered for stone countertops
  • Pure silicone perimeter seal — full perimeter, every installation
  • Same-day for most projects — removal, install, and plumbing in one visit
Tile backsplash installation by GranitePro
Step 06

Tile Demo, Supply & Installation

We handle both sides of tile — demolition of your existing backsplash and installation of the new one. Everything is coordinated through licensed tile professionals scheduled as part of your project. No sourcing a separate contractor after the countertops are in, no gap between trades.

Tile work typically follows countertop installation once the new stone is set and plumbing is reconnected. Your project coordinator walks you through the timing.

  • Tile demolition — existing backsplash removed cleanly before installation
  • Licensed tile professionals — coordinated through GranitePro
  • Scheduled as part of your project — one point of contact throughout
Worth considering
Full-Height Backsplash

Running your countertop material all the way up the wall is one of the most dramatic upgrades a kitchen can get — and one of the most asked-about. It works in both tile and slab form, and the considerations are different for each.

Countertops and cabinets are the two decisions that define a kitchen. When the same designer helps you work through both at the same time — color, finish, door style, stone selection — the whole kitchen comes together as a system instead of a collection of separate choices.

We carry Wolf, Fabuwood, and Shiloh — budget through premium — and coordinate with your contractor to keep the whole project on track.
