Why we wrote these guides

Real numbers from real Maryland kitchens

Most countertop and cabinet pricing pages online are written by SEO agencies who've never templated a kitchen or designed one. The numbers are pulled from national averages or made up entirely. The advice is generic.

We wrote these guides differently. Every one was written by our team — designers, fabricators, and installers who work on Maryland kitchens every week. The numbers reflect real projects we've quoted. The advice reflects what we actually tell our clients in the showroom.

Each guide is built around one principle: explain how pricing actually works, not just what it costs. Once you understand the framework — what's included in a per-square-foot price, what add-ons drive cost up, why advertised pricing is often misleading — you can evaluate any quote from any source. Even if you don't buy from us.

We share these guides with every client who walks into our showroom. We're sharing them publicly because the more informed our market is, the better. Honest businesses don't fear educated buyers.

How to use these guides

These guides are most valuable when you actually use them

Before your first showroom visit

Skim the guide that matches your project. Get a baseline number in your head. You'll walk in oriented and we can spend the consultation on design, not basic math.

When comparing quotes

Ask every fabricator to itemize their quote against the variables in our guide — sink cutouts, edge profile, sealing, removal, cabinet count, accessories, trim. Apples-to-apples comparisons reveal where the real differences are.

When you've gotten a quote that seems too good to be true

Read the "Why You'll See $39.99 Ads" section. It usually explains why.

When your spouse needs convincing

Send them the relevant guide. Most of our clients tell us this saves a week of "is this really worth it" conversations.

When you need to remember what we discussed

Bookmark the guide. We'll reference the same frameworks in our consultation, so the guide becomes your project memory.

Frequently asked questions

About our pricing, our process, and how to use these guides.

Most advertised "$39.99/sq ft" pricing excludes essentials like sink cutouts, edge profiles, sealing, templating, and delivery. Our pricing reflects what most homeowners actually walk out paying — a complete, line-itemed quote with no surprise add-ons. When the bait-priced quote gets itemized, the gap usually closes or reverses.
The numbers reflect real Maryland projects we've quoted within the last 12 months. They're not national averages and they're not made up. Your specific quote will reflect your specific project — but the ranges in our guides will get you within 10–15% of your actual number.
We don't price-match because lower-than-our-pricing usually means something different is being quoted — different slab tier, different add-ons included, different installation quality. We're happy to walk through any competitor quote with you and explain where the differences are.
A phone quote is a rough range based on the information you provide — useful for budget calibration, not for committing to a project. An in-home estimate gets you an accurate, line-itemed quote that we'll honor. We strongly recommend in-home estimates for any real decision.
30 days for most projects. Stone and cabinet pricing fluctuates with supply, so quotes older than 30 days may need a small adjustment.
Countertops: 6–10 business days from template to install. Cabinets: 6–8 weeks for semi-custom, 10–14 weeks for full custom Shiloh.
Yes — we partner with multiple home improvement financing providers offering both promotional 0% terms and longer-term options. We can walk you through choices at the consultation.
