Quartz is our most popular material but it isn't right for every kitchen. Granite is fully heat-resistant — hot pans directly on the surface, no trivets needed — UV-stable for outdoor kitchens, and every slab is genuinely unique. For Ellicott City homeowners who cook heavily or want a countertop nobody else has, granite is often the better answer. Periodic sealing is required, but it's a 10-minute homeowner job every few years.
Quartzite is a natural stone frequently confused with quartz — they're completely different materials.
