Countertop Edge Profiles

Ten edges, cut in our own facility. Three are included with every countertop. Come see them on real stone in the showroom.

Pick an edge.

Each drawing is the edge in cross-section, on a 3cm slab, exactly as we cut it.

Complimentary

Included

Included with every countertop.

  • Eased

A square edge with the corner softened. Clean and simple, and it works with any style of kitchen.

  • ¼" Round

A small rounded top corner. Softer than eased, still simple.

  • ¼" Bevel

A small 45° cut on the top corner. A crisp line that catches the light.

Advantage

Upgrade

A step up, with a fuller shape. [CONFIRM pricing]

  • Half-Bullnose

The top corner rounded over, with the bottom left square. Easy on hips and hands.

  • Demi-Bullnose

A larger round that sweeps from the top almost to the bottom. Soft and traditional.

  • ½" Bevel

A larger 45° cut on the top corner. The bolder version of the quarter bevel.

Premier

Upgrade

Our most detailed profiles. [CONFIRM pricing]

  • Ogee

An S-shaped curve: a cove at the top that flows into a rounded bottom. Traditional and decorative.

  • Cove

A single deep scoop from the top down to a small lip at the bottom. Elegant and understated.

  • Cove Ogee

A cove, a step, a second cove, and a rounded bottom. The most detailed profile we cut.

  • Dupont

A square lip at the top, then a rounded bullnose below it. Formal, and at home in traditional kitchens.

Not sure which edge?

Edge questions.

Don't see yours? Call (410) 875-7579 and ask a real person.

Which edge is included in my quote?

The three Complimentary edges, eased, ¼" round, and ¼" bevel, are included with every countertop. Advantage and Premier edges are an upgrade, listed on your quote. [CONFIRM]

Which edge is easiest to live with?

Rounded edges like eased, ¼" round, and the bullnoses have no sharp corners, so they're the most forgiving for hips, hands, and chips.

Which edges work with a modern kitchen?

Eased, ¼" round, and the bevels. They keep the lines clean and let the stone do the talking.

Which edges work with a traditional kitchen?

Ogee, cove ogee, and Dupont. They pair well with raised-panel and inset cabinets.

How thick are your countertops?

Our standard slab is 3cm, about 1¼ inches. Every profile on this page is cut on 3cm stone.

Can I see the edges in person?

Yes. Both showrooms have edge samples. Walk in during business hours and we'll show you each one on real stone.

When do I choose my edge?

At your estimate or showroom visit, before template. The edge is part of your quote, and we cut it in our own facility in Maryland.
