Eldersburg Showroom~35 Min from Taneytown
The Short Version
GranitePro serves Taneytown and all of Carroll County with quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, soapstone, porcelain, and Dekton countertops — fabricated at our own Eldersburg facility, installed by our own crew. Two ways to start: a free in-home estimate at your home, or walk into our Eldersburg showroom — about 35 minutes from Taneytown.

Taneytown is the oldest town in Carroll County, and the kitchens show it. In town along Baltimore Street you have houses that predate the Republic — thick walls, low ceilings, rooms that were never meant to hold a dishwasher. Outside town it's farms and properties on acreage, where the kitchen is bigger but the real entertaining happens on the patio. Those are two different jobs, and neither is a stock template.

Both are worth doing carefully. We template digitally, so the stone gets cut to the walls you actually have rather than the ones a drawing says you should — which matters a great deal in a house built in 1820. We scan the slab and plan the layout before cutting, so on a long run or an island the veining carries across the seam. Everything is cut at our own Eldersburg facility and installed by our own crew.

We serve Taneytown, Union Bridge, Keymar, Detour, New Windsor, Westminster, and Emmitsburg, and we cross the line into the Littlestown and Gettysburg area regularly. Carroll County is home — our shop is here. Nearby: Westminster and New Windsor.

— Why quartz is the most popular countertop in Maryland kitchens

Granite, quartzite, Dekton & natural stone

Quartz is our most popular material but it isn't right for every kitchen. Granite is fully heat-resistant — hot pans directly on the surface, no trivets needed — UV-stable for outdoor kitchens, and every slab is genuinely one of a kind. For Taneytown homeowners who cook heavily or want a kitchen nobody else has, granite is often the better answer. Periodic sealing is required, but it's a 10-minute homeowner job every few years.

Quartzite is a natural stone frequently confused with quartz — they're completely different materials. Quartzite is harder than granite, more heat-resistant, and often produces looks that rival the best marble. It's typically priced above granite. If you want a true natural stone with marble-like aesthetics and maximum durability, quartzite is worth seeing in person at our Eldersburg showroom.

Dekton is an ultra-compact sintered surface — zero porosity, extreme scratch and heat resistance, and UV-stable for outdoor use. It's the right call for high-demand kitchens or outdoor cooking areas in Union Bridge, Keymar, and New Windsor, or anywhere in Carroll County where quartz wouldn't hold up.

"Several years later I decided that I needed a granite bar sink in my basement. I showed Kevin my sketch and picked out a remnant piece of stone. He gave me pricing and I had an appointment that day for the install. Just like before, they knew what to do. When they left everything was perfect."

Frequently asked questions

Yes — Taneytown and all of Carroll County are a regular part of our service area. We provide free in-home estimates throughout the county and regularly install in Taneytown, Union Bridge, Keymar, Detour, New Windsor, Westminster, and Emmitsburg, and surrounding communities. Our Eldersburg showroom is about 35 minutes from Taneytown via MD-140.
Quartz is engineered — consistent color and pattern, non-porous, zero maintenance, but sensitive to prolonged heat and outdoor UV. Granite is natural — every slab is unique, fully heat-resistant (hot pans directly on the surface, no trivets needed), and UV-stable for outdoor kitchens. Granite requires periodic sealing, which is a 10-minute homeowner job every few years. We can walk you through both side by side at our Eldersburg showroom — no appointment needed.
From digital template to installation is typically 6–12 business days. Installation itself is a single-day visit — we remove your old countertops, install the new stone, and licensed plumbers handle disconnect and reconnect the same day. Your kitchen is back in service by the end of install day.
We scan your slab after templating and plan seam placement before anything gets cut, so seams land where they're least noticeable and the veining lines up across the joint. Seams are set with the Gorilla Seam Setting System and a color-matched adhesive. A well-planned seam hides well — you'll know where it is, but it won't be the first thing anyone sees.
Our 10-year labor warranty covers our workmanship — seams, sink connections, and countertop support. It doesn't cover accidental damage like chips or cracks from impact. Material defects are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, which varies by brand.
Yes, and on properties with acreage it's one of our more common requests out this way. Material choice is narrower outdoors than in: quartz is not UV-stable and will discolor in direct sun, so it's the wrong call. Granite and Dekton are both UV-stable and fully heat-resistant, which makes them the two we'd steer you toward for a patio bar or a built-in grill surround. Have a look at our outdoor kitchen gallery for what that looks like finished.
No. Taneytown is inside our normal service area and there's no travel surcharge — the estimate, the template visit, and install day are priced the same as a job ten minutes from the shop. What the distance does mean is that we schedule these deliberately rather than squeezing them in, so we're not asking you to take a second day off because we ran long somewhere else.
It's expected in a house that age, and it's the reason we template digitally instead of measuring by hand. The template records the walls as they actually are — bows, settled cabinet runs, corners that haven't been square since Grant was president — and the stone is cut to match. Older homes in town are a regular part of our week, not an exception we have to work around.
Yes — removal and disposal of existing countertops is part of our scope. We handle laminate, Corian, tile, and existing stone. Tile is the most labor-intensive to remove since it's typically set in mortar, so it carries a higher removal cost. Everything is scoped in your estimate so there are no surprises on install day.
Yes — licensed plumbers handle sink disconnect and reconnect as part of install day. You don't need to coordinate a separate plumber. It's scoped and included in your project estimate.
We design and supply cabinetry across several lines, from budget-friendly through premium inset. Our designers lay out the kitchen so cabinetry and countertops are planned together rather than as two separate projects. Cabinetry installation is handled by installers we refer and trust.
